About Annie Jack Design

Where did the name Annie Jack come from?

I  was adopted from Edna Gladney Adoption agency in Fort Worth, Texas

My parents drove up from Houston to stay with my grandparents before going to pick me up. Dad's name was Jack and my great grandmother's name, who lived with my grandparents, was Annie.  That evening there was some fun bantering between my dad and great grandmother about who's namesake I should be.

My whole life I heard, "You could have been called Annie Jack", so when I needed an interior design business name I chose Annie Jack Design. We shortened the name to ANNIE JACK for the storefront.

Rachel Ann and Brent Baty

We grew up in the first major master planned community outside of Houston called Kingwood. . My dad was the project manager.  In 7th grade I got my first real job and my first  major crush.   I was a tour guide for the Parade of Homes and Brent Baty moved into town!

Years later, I went to Baylor graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and Brent was appointed to the United States Military Academy at West Point graduating as an officer.  After college, by God's grace, I married that boy of my dreams and became a military wife and then a mom of two. Both of our children were adopted as babies, just like their momma.  I've worked both in commercial and residential design, but my love is the home.  Between military and corporate moves making it work became an art.  Settling down in Celina and opening a store in the historic Nelson Hotel on the Square is so much fun!  Come see us, shop, and visit. We also make a great Illy cup of coffee or espresso drink at our espresso bar.
